Heating water in the country is a problem facing almost every summer resident. Of course, you can put a container of water directly in the sun. But the waiting time for the result will stretch for many hours. In our article we will tell you how to make a solar collector for heating water with your own hands. Such a collector will significantly reduce the time for heating water, and the use of a solar battery will allow you not to spend money on electricity.

Materials for manufacturing
To make it sunnyth collector, you will need:
- cooling radiator from an old refrigerator;
- moisture resistant plywood;
- wooden bars;
- thermal insulation foil;
- stretch or plexiglass;
- regular and double-sided tape;
- thin silicone hose;
- submersible water pump 12 V, 5 W;
- automatic voltage converter;
- solar panel SP-12 for 25 W;
- soldering iron;
- insulated wires;
- multimeter.
Step 1. Making the collector housing
From the bars we make the frame of the collector housing according to the size of the refrigerator cooling radiator.
We make the bottom of the case from moisture-resistant plywood and cover it with heat-insulating foil.

In the bars we make holes for the outlets of the radiator coil.
We install the radiator into the case, leading the coil through the holes in the bars.

We attach the radiator condenser to the body with adhesive tape.
Ideally, the body of the collector should be covered with plexiglass, but in the absence of the latter, 3-4 layers of stretch can be dispensed with.

For ease of carrying and installation, we attach handles to the body.

Step 2. We assemble the water supply system
We connect a thin silicone hose to the coil. If he finds it loose, we wind up the tape.

Connect the other end of the hose to the pump outlet.

To protect the pump, we will supply power to it from a solar battery through a converter according to the following scheme.

We solder the wires to the converter and set the output to 12 V.

For ease of use, we solder connectors to the input wires of the converter and the output wires of the solar battery.

Step 3. Testing
We connect the converter to the solar battery and check the voltage at its output. It must be 12 V.
We connect the pump and lower it to the bottom of the tank with cold water (21 degrees Celsius).
The solar collector is positioned so that it is maximally turned to the rays of the sun.

After some time of operation of the collector, the temperature of the water in the tank reaches 40 degrees Celsius.
