Materials for manufacturing
To make a fishing rod, you will need:
- shrub branches;
- knife;
- rope;
- fishing line, sinker, hook;
- floating head connector.
Step 1. Making a gatehouse
From a branch of a shrub as thick as a thumb, we cut off a blank for a gatehouse ≈8 cm long. Stepping back from the edge of 2 cm, we make an incision with a knife to half of the branch.

We chop off the incised part from most of the peg and remove the bark.
On both sides of the gatehouse we make cuts for attaching the rope.

From a branch of the same thickness we make a base for which the gatehouse will cling.

It can also be made from a small horn, cut and shaped into a tent peg.

Part of the base, immersed in the ground, is weaved.
Step 2. We collect a fishing rod
We cut a rod about 2 meters long from a bush. It should be flexible and resilient enough to hook the fish.

We also cut out the horn on which we will lay the rod. Its height should be a little over a meter.
We cut and cut another horn into the shape of a tent peg. Its function is to press the thick edge of the rod to the ground.

We collect a self-cutting fishing rod directly on the shore of the reservoir.
With the help of spears, we set the rod at an angle of approximately 35-40 degrees.

To the end of the rod on a rope we tie the gatehouse at such a length that when hooked to the base, the rod bends sufficiently.

We tie a piece of rope to the second edge of the gatehouse, to which we connect a fishing line with a weight and a hook through a floating head connector.
Step 3. We catch fish
We put bait on the hook and throw it into the water. Installing a guard. When the fish pulls on the line, the guard will be released, the rod will straighten up and hook the fish.

Now it remains only to wait for the catch. Since our rod itself catches fish, you can devote your free time to studying the local flora and fauna. Yes, and do not forget about firewood, so that there is something to cook the fish soup on.
