Many of us, when pruning trees in our gardens in the spring, faced the problem of thinning out dense crowns. It is not very convenient to carry an ordinary saw along a tree, and in the process of pruning there is a high probability of injuring the bark of neighboring branches. We suggest you make a small saw out of an ordinary utility knife. It is very easy to manufacture, and in terms of ease of use in the dense crowns of trees, it significantly exceeds the usual hacksaw.

Materials for manufacturing
To make saw, you will need:
- durable stationery knife with a wide blade;
- a piece of a hacksaw blade of sufficient length (if you don’t mind, you can take the whole);
- marker;
- vise.
Step 1. Remove the blade
Remove the plastic cap from the knife handle.
Remove the latch and remove the blade.

Step 2. Making a new blade from a hacksaw blade
We mark the length and bevel on the hacksaw blade with a marker.

We clamp the canvas in a vise strictly along the bevel and break it off.

Step 3. Assemble the mini saw
We place the hole in the hacksaw blade in the latch.
We insert the canvas into the knife handle and close the plastic cap. Our knife is ready.

Step 4. Testing
It is also convenient to use such a saw on a hike, because it can be safely carried even in a trouser pocket. And she cuts quite thick branches.
