Materials for work
In order to make a handle from rebar, you will need:
- large anvil;
- round pipe;
- 2 pieces of reinforcement;
- ruler;
- large hammer or sledgehammer;
- chalk;
- Bulgarian;
- gas-acetylene welding.
Step 1. Prepare the reinforcement
We put two fittings, of the same length, on a massive anvil and mark their centers with chalk.
Having adjusted the flame of gas-acetylene welding, we heat the center of the armature.
Without wasting a minute, we bend the armature in half, holding it in weight.
Using a round pipe, create a bending radius for the reinforcement. To facilitate the work, it is necessary to heat the fittings from time to time with gas-acetylene welding.
We form a loop by putting the reinforcement on the pipe and hitting the line below the fold with a hammer.
We do the same with the second armature. The ends of the reinforcement must lie in the same plane.
Using a hammer, lift the loop heads.
Step 2. We form the handle
We put two fittings with a “jack” so that the end of one fitting enters the loop of the other. We do the same with the end of the second armature.
We connect two loops to the center, if they go tight, we help with a hammer.
To make the knot neater, occasionally heat the reinforcement and then knock it out with a hammer.
We heat the ends of our workpiece and bend them at 90 degrees with a hammer.
On the inside of the future handle, we make seams by welding, for better fastening.
We mark the excess length with chalk and cut it off with a grinder.
We clean our workpiece, giving it a distinct metal color.
We weld the finished handle to a metal door. She really looks like a man, with a strong character.
