LED lamps have firmly entered our lives. They almost completely ousted their predecessors from apartments and cottages. But when it comes to lighting large rooms (conference rooms, warehouses, etc.), their power is clearly not enough.
Recently, a lot of LED matrices have appeared on the market, the power of which reaches 300 watts. You probably met them when lighting the streets of night cities. In the article, we will tell you how to make a diode lamp out of an ordinary energy-saving one by connecting an LED matrix to it and providing it with cooling.

Materials for manufacturing
To make a diode lamp, you will need:
- LED matrix for 220 V with a power of 100 W with a built-in driver;
- 12V cooling fan with heatsink;
- old non-working energy-saving lamp;
- 9 V power supply;
- wire cutters;
- screwdriver;
- soldering iron;
- marker;
- insulated wires;
- self-tapping screws for metal;
- epoxy and super glue.
Step 1. Disassemble the energy-saving lamp
Carefully remove the bulb from the energy-saving lamp.
We remove the driver with wire cutters (a circuit that maintains a constant output current of a certain value) - it will not be useful to us either.

Step 2. Making power for the fan
We disassemble the power supply for 9 V.
We unsolder the outgoing wires from it.
We try on the power supply board to the lamp body. If it is a little larger, we bite off the corners with wire cutters.

Step 3. We assemble the diode lamp
To ensure air flow, we drill six holes in the case - three on each side.
In the fan heatsink, mark the holes for attaching the matrix with a marker and drill them.
We cover the junction of the matrix and the radiator with thermal grease and fasten the matrix with self-tapping screws.

We solder the power wires to the matrix, and the fan wires to the power supply.
We solder the wires from the base to the input terminals of the power supply, here we also solder the wires from the LED matrix.

We place the power board in the light bulb housing and fix it with epoxy glue.
We place the matrix on top of the body and glue it with superglue.

Check the ease of rotation of the fan. For this, it is better to use a wire.
We screw the lamp into the base and check its performance.
