Very often in summer cottages there are stumps from cut down old trees. Uprooting them is a laborious process (you need to dig quite deeply into the stump and try to chop down still powerful roots). However, there is a simple and inexpensive way to get rid of a stump without any extra effort. Its only drawback is that the stump decomposes for a long time.

Materials for work
In order to get rid of the stump, you will need:
- screwdriver or drill;
- drill "feather" size 25;
- ammonium nitrate;
- funnel;
- crowbar;
- sledgehammer.
Step 1. Making holes
Using a drill, we make a hole of maximum depth in the stump (about 12-13 cm).

In the same way, there is a second hole in the hemp.

Step 2: Fill in the Holes
We take ammonium nitrate.

We insert a funnel into the hole and pour saltpeter through it into the drilled holes.

A little tamped saltpeter with your finger.

Add more saltpeter.

As a result, here is what we got.

Step 3. Getting rid of the stump
After the specified period, we get a lifeless stump.

We put a crowbar inside the hole in the stump and begin to break the stump.

We take a sledgehammer and hit the stump from the sides, destroying it.

We pull out the rest of the stump with our hands.

As we can see, the stump turned into dust, and the roots became soft, loose.

As a result, only a hole remained, which needs to be covered with earth.

How to easily and effortlessly get rid of an unnecessary stump
How to get rid of tree stumps? We turn stumps into dust!
Addition!
If there are no plants nearby, the roots of which we are afraid to damage and
also underground gas pipelines, deposits of peat, coal and other flammability, then after filling saltpeter, within a month or two
from time to time water the stump with water. Then, pour any combustible liquid (20-50 grams) into dry holes and set it on fire. The stump will burn to the smallest roots!
OBSERVE THE RULES OF FIRE SAFETY!
DO NOT LEAVE THE FIRE UNATTENDED!
BURNING TIME FROM 2 TO 6 HOURS AND MORE, DEPENDING ON THE SIZE AND GENERATION OF THE STUNT!
If you mix saltpeter and kerosene, and pour this mixture into the hole, then after 6-8 months you can set fire to the stump and it will burn down to the thinnest roots.
Step number 3. Photo from another author, with one hole, you made two. I have tried and continue to use this method as needed, improving it somewhat. Holes should be made as large as possible and to the maximum depth. Pour a stronger alkali into the holes, I use caustic soda (caustic soda), you should not tamp with your finger, work with rubber gloves, taking precautions.When all the holes are filled, I cover the stump with plastic wrap as thick as possible and fix it with staples using a stapler or tape, as convenient. Alkali absorbs moisture very strongly, so let it take it from wood, and not from air or precipitation. with this method, small stumps can indeed be removed after a year. According to the method described above, a stump with a diameter of 34 cm from an apricot “rotted” for 2 years and nothing until dug up, but according to my method, a stump from a walnut, with a diameter of 38 cm (unfortunately, the nut grew in the wrong place) collapsed in 1 .5 years. I advise…
You can also put a cap of wet salt on a fresh cut, pull a black garbage bag on top without access to air and tie it tightly a little lower so that air does not get on the film. Remove the stump the following year. And the villagers also told me that you can just pour salted boiling water from the kettle on top, but I have not tried it.
