The familiar superglue was invented almost 80 years ago. This bonding agent is simply indispensable in everyday life, because it allows you to make a very strong and reliable connection of parts within a few minutes. The main active ingredient of superglue is cyanoacrylate.
Bonding occurs due to the polymerization of cyanoacrylate when it comes into contact with water vapor in the air or on the surfaces to be bonded. Modern superglues have a huge setting force: they are able to withstand pressure up to 250 atmospheres. Moreover, due to the polymer structure of the hardened adhesive layer, both rough and smooth surfaces stick together equally well.
Unfortunately, any tool has along with positive as well as negative sides. Accidentally leaking glue can cause a lot of problems: it quickly hardens, and it is quite difficult to remove it from the surface on which it accidentally got. If the surface is metal, there are no particular problems - just scrape it off with any sharp tool. With proper care, this operation will not even scratch the metal.
But with softer surfaces, this will not work. Mechanical removal of the adhesive will certainly damage the relatively soft structure and the appearance of the object or coating will be irreparably damaged.
Particularly unpleasant are occasional drops of glue on floor coverings - laminate or linoleum. They will not harm the coating, but frozen white adhesive spots will significantly worsen the interior of the room. This article shows you how you can remove superglue from laminate flooring in minutes without damaging it.

General information
Superglue may have different names, but in any case, it contains cyanoacrylate. This must be indicated on the label. The substance has a rather strong smell and it is difficult to confuse it with anything else.
Getting on the surface of a laminate or linoleum, it hardens, turning first into a transparent, and then into a whitish coating. The final hardening of the adhesive occurs within a few hours.
Removing such plaque is mechanically problematic, Therefore, they use the chemical method.
There are several ways to remove superglue. The whole question is only in the speed of removal and possible unpleasant consequences for a person.
The easiest way is to use special compositions based on polypropylene carbonate, which is a natural solvent for cyanoacrylate. The method is good for everyone, except for one thing - polypropylene is toxic (hazard class 1), so it is not recommended to use it.
Another way is to use ordinary water. Methylcyanoacrylate dissolves in it, albeit slowly. Complete dissolution of a spot of glue with a diameter of several centimeters occurs in about a day. This method is also unacceptable, since it is impossible to immerse the flooring in water for such a long time - the laminate will simply deteriorate.
Therefore, the third method is used
In fact, dimemxide does not dissolve the adhesive, but it does react with the outer layer of cyanoacrylate. Spreading over the area of contact between the adhesive and the coating, it destroys molecular bonds, which leads to the separation of the adhesive from the coating.
Consider the sequence of actions that need to be done, To remove adhesive stains from laminate flooring or any other floor covering:
Action #1 Preparing materials
To remove the stain from the surface, you will need cotton pads and a certain amount of dimexide.
Cotton pad is ready. Dimexide is applied to a cotton pad. Now you can start removing the glue.
Action #2 Pre-treatment
First, it is necessary to impregnate the adhesive layer on the coating with dimexide as much as possible. This is done using a circular motion with a cotton pad over the entire surface of the adhesive spot.
Gradually, dimexide will begin to penetrate between the glue and the surface, and the glue stain will partially collapse and fall off. At the same time, its fragments will remain on the cotton pad.
After about 1-2 minutes, from 50 to 80% of the adhesive will be removed, and only the most well-adhered fragments will remain on the surface.
This suggests that Dimexide is not enough and it is desirable to impregnate the disc with it again.
Action #3 Final cleaning of the surface
Next, you should once again walk over the surface of the coating with a cotton pad. In this case, the movements should not be circular, but directed along the fibers.
At this stage, the removal of adhesive residue is even faster than in the previous one.
