The opportunity to swim on your own plot is expensive - the pool can be all-season, but more often they make summer ones, in which it is so nice to cool off in the heat. The source will be clean, always at hand - excellent opportunities for recreation.
Advantages of a private pool on the site:
- wellness and relaxation for the whole family
- huge space for children's games
- settled warm water for watering the garden
There are many options for arranging pools. Next, you will learn about the types of structures, features of different types of bowls. The sequence of construction work will be considered step by step.
Content:

Types of structures
Before proceeding with the design, budgeting, select the type of construction. This parameter determines the technology of work, allows you to select the best materials.
The main types of country pools:

Frame pool

plastic pool

Stationary version of the pool
Inflatable pools are also used - but this is a very simple, short-lived material. It is easy to pierce even the most expensive product, and you will have to make a replacement. Inflatable products of small sizes can be placed on the area for children.

Choosing a place for construction

Laying a large pool
Since a stationary pool is the only permanent, "real" option, we will talk about its construction further. The first issue is the choice of location. Key recommendations:
- Properties, soil type - it is desirable that the soil in the place where the bowl is laid is dense, clayey. This will create additional waterproofing, improve the quality of the structure. On stony soils, it is tritely very difficult to equip a pit
- Direction of the wind - a pool located in an open area is prone to littering. There are two ways to find a way out of the situation - installing an awning and locating a reservoir in a place protected from the main wind direction together
- Vegetation nearby – there are bushes near the pool, trees are not needed. Plants are drawn to moisture, their strong roots can reach the bowl (the basis of the structure) and pierce it.
Make sure that there is enough space on the site, leave an area for approach, rest. The width of the bowl itself also varies - 2.5 m is enough for one track, 4 m is needed for two. The size of the pool is a matter of taste and your requests.

preliminary calculations

Pit preparation
The main parameters of the future pool are the width and depth. They are determined taking into account the goals of construction. If you plan to mainly swim, stop at a rectangular, slightly elongated bowl. Round bases are a handy option for splashing and relaxing.
Depth can be made one or changing. Gradual deepening is optimal for families with children (there will be zones for everyone), ski jumping. The most difficult from a constructive point of view will be a combined pool for children and adults. In it, the zones are separated by a partition going from the very bottom.

Bowl: buy or pour?

Stationary pool
Preparation of the pit, pouring the bowl is the most time-consuming work in the course of arranging the pool. You can make your life easier by buying a ready-made bowl. It will just need to be dug into the ground and securely fixed. Ready-made bowls have different sizes, colors and shapes. Unlike poured concrete, they do not crack.
Finished bowls can be made from:
- plastic
- composite
The principle of their installation will be the same, the difference lies in the characteristics of the materials. The plastic bowl needs to be insulated from the outside, but you can’t find a lighter, more environmentally friendly, inexpensive solution. Polypropylene has a high resistance to fading, mechanical stress, does not require draining water for the winter. The inner surface of the plastic bowl is beautiful, smooth, and does not require additional finishing.

Construction of a swimming pool in the country
Fiberglass composite of heat, frost is not afraid. Fiberglass is a polymer whose particles are bound together with resins. Composite bowls have the same benefits as plastic bowls, but will be more expensive. The investments made in their purchase pay off - reliability, durability, good operational parameters.
Do-it-yourself bowls are made of concrete. They are poured into the prepared pit, have the sizes and shapes that you need. Concrete mix is affordable, everywhere is on sale. You can order the delivery of a ready-to-work mortar or mix it on the site yourself (from cement and sand).
Concrete is used to create the entire bowl with walls or just the bottom. The option of a cement bottom and walls made of steel sheets or polystyrene foam blocks is equipped faster. The steel is easy to install and is sold ready to use. Expanded polystyrene has low thermal conductivity, so the water in such a pool will have an optimal temperature.

Stages of construction work
Pool construction includes:
- Determination of the type of reservoir, project preparation, site selection
- Marking and earthworks
- Arrangement of the formwork, pouring the bowl (or installation of the finished one)
- Waterproofing, bowl finish
- Installation of additional equipment, creation of lighting
Every stage of construction is important. The reliability and durability of the finished structure will depend on compliance with the requirements. The duration of each stage is different, filling the bowl takes much more time than installing a ready-made one.
Excavation
When the place is chosen, and the project is ready, you can begin to make a foundation pit. Marking is created on the site - with the help of a stretched rope or pegs. If the pool is large, special equipment will be required to shovel the earth.
Pouring the bowl

Formwork for the pool
When the pit is ready, you can fill the bowl. Procedure:
- Tamp the walls and bottom, pour a pillow of sand up to 30 m thick, compact
- On the walls and on the bottom, apply a layer of waterproofing. Bitumen, roofing felt are the most popular options, but you can choose others. Standard scheme - laying a layer of roofing material to cover the contact surface with the bowl, applying 3 layers of prepared bituminous mass
- Installation of the drain system - strictly before the start of formwork. The number, location of the holes depends on the shape, size of the bowl
- Formwork installation - using improvised materials
- Pouring cement mass with reinforcement
Choose concrete with frost-resistant, hydro-resistant additives. When the concrete mass hardens, remove the formwork, treat the bowl with a water-concrete solution, and ferruginize. It remains to finish.
Installation of the finished bowl

Arrangement of a plastic pool
This information will be useful to those summer residents who decide to use the finished bowl. The pit is prepared according to the standard scheme. Further:
- Pour a layer of coarse sand about 20 cm, compact it tightly
- Lay a metal mesh around the perimeter of the pit and pour the solution 25 cm thick
- When the mixture dries, lay geotextiles, lay styrofoam boards on top for thermal insulation
- Lay a strong film over the insulation
- Wrap the outer surface of the bowl in polystyrene foam, then in polyethylene. Insulate the outside with polystyrene foam
- Lower the bowl to the bottom of the pit
- Connect communications, put a protective sleeve on the pipes
- Concrete the voids between the walls of the pool and the soil. To do this, make spacers to prevent bending of the plastic or composite under the pressure of the concrete mass. Place the formwork, lay the reinforcement, perform layer-by-layer pouring - pour 30 cm of water, raise the concrete, again 30 cm and so on. Wait until the mass hardens. Repeat the steps until the concrete layer reaches the ground surface.
- After a day, remove the formwork, fill the voids in it with sand, spill it with water, ram
It remains to mount the pump with a filter. If you plan to make a canopy, mount it on supports. You will also need lighting.
Final works
- Ready pool from improvised materials. The base is made of pallets, dense polyethylene is laid inside
- The second version of the pool, made by hand
After digging a pit and pouring a bowl or installation ready, it remains to finish and carry out lighting. Before finishing work, a waterproofing layer is applied to the bowl. Inspect the material for cracks - each will need to be repaired, otherwise there will be risks of damage to the bowl. Suitable mastic, film, impregnating building materials.
When the waterproofing is ready, proceed to the finish. Tiles are usually used to cover the inner surface of the bowl - the ceramic material normally withstands prolonged contact with water, is easy to clean, and looks attractive.. The price is average, you can choose products from different brands.
An alternative to ceramic tiles is PVC film. On sale there are different options for this material. All of them are durable, strong, cope with the tasks. The choice of colors is large. This is enough for finishing, but if you wish, you can choose expensive materials, lay out mosaic tiles.

Equipped area around an artificial reservoir
Additional equipment that you also need to use:
- Water treatment devices - a valve with different strokes, a circulation pump, a filtration tank, and other elements. With this equipment, water changes will have to be carried out many times less often than without it.
- Flow type heater - allows you to swim in cool weather
- Lighting equipment – lighting solves functional problems, makes the pool attractive
Arrange the area around the artificial reservoir. The approach to the pool is usually made out using decorative tiles - preferably anti-slip. You can lay out roll covers, plant a green lawn, or use any other option.

conclusions
The pool is an addition to the summer cottage or the territory of a country house. Monolithic structures are the most durable, suitable for all-weather use. You can use improvised materials for construction, as well as install inflatable, frame models, but it would be better to pour a full-fledged bowl into a pre-prepared pit.
The work is lengthy and laborious, requiring strict adherence to technical conditions. Final - decorative finishing and installation of the lighting system.
